Impostor syndrome is a psychological pattern in which an individual doubts their skills, talents, or accomplishments and has a persistent internalized fear of being exposed as a “fraud”. According to an article published in the Wall Street Journal, up to 82% (!!!) of people surveyed have experienced a form of imposter syndrome–for varying lengths from a few weeks (like starting a new job) to years.

I have definitely suffered from imposter syndrome in different roles in my career. But here’s the good news: actual imposters don’t experience imposter syndrome. So, just the fact that you have it suggests you’re legit! Congrats!

How to Combat Imposter Syndrome
